I’m super tired right now, and need to put my feet up but wanted to jot these notes down first:
1. Many thanks to everyone who left such thoughtful and supportive remarks over at Justine’s blog. It was doubly thrilling to have such a great review AND such outrage over my inability to find a publisher for Wish. We WILL change the system eventually…
2. If you’re going to do a job, do it RIGHT! That’s what Justine tried to say in her previous post about white authors writing about POC. She’s got a new post up now on the advantages of being a white author–I haven’t read it yet, but can’t wait! She quotes Neesha Meminger and Mayra Lazara Dole who have strong opinions on the subject.
3. I’m just home from my talk at Rutgers, which I thought went quite well (though I ran out of time at the end). I found these lovely emails waiting for me:

My name isand I just want to say that I enjoyed your lecture this morning and I feel that you are an inspiration to women everywhere! You have inspired me even further to continue pursuing my goals in life irrespective of life situations. Goodluck in your future endeavors!!!
(b) hey i was in this mornings class when you came in to speak. i just wanted to say you did a great job and i really enjoyed the class. you did a great job speaking and made the class go very fast which is a hard thing to do at 9:15 in the morning. i really enjoyed reading your play. i especially liked like ending. again great job today.
