I think we’ve talked about this before. Major books for me were:
Roots, read this in the 8th grade.
Black Like Me, high school
I know Why The Caged Bird Sings, high school
I didn’t read Roots until I was an adult–my grandmother gave it to me–though I vividly remember watching the miniseries as a child…
